more on Cyber safety

, I have written a few posts of late on the issue of cybersafety. Di, one of the participants in the Intel Thinking with Technology course that I am running pointed out this amazing site from the UK. It would have to be one of the most comprehensive sites I have seen on the subject of cybersafety, social networking and cyberbullying. As a teacher of students who are have a presence online the challenge for me is to stay abreast of what is out there as well as empower students with strategies that they can use themselves. This site warrents far more exploration and I hope to do more of that over the next few weeks.

If you're looking for good cybersafety sites then try www.thinkuknow.co.uk/

Its especially good for younger children and the online and offline resources are excellent, particularly the section on online chat and decision making.

Hope that this is useful.

Thanks very much Steve. The thinkuknow site is great and I will certainly let students and staff know about it. The only thing I was disappointed about was that parts of it are only available to teachers in the UK. I guess when you spend a lot of time online where a great deal is generously shared by others you sort of get used to being able to access information and ideas easily and without restriction. But there is certainly enough there to warrant returning.

Thank you so much for sharing this site. It is just what I have been looking for and there are so many great resources within it. Do you happen to know of any actual online policy documents geared at schools use of Web 2.0 technologies? Thanks again
